So I had a really really bad day at work today. I'm still stuck out front carving and working the buffet and I absolutely hate it. I cannot stand the customers, their stupidity, gluttony, indecisiveness, impatience, and rudeness boils my blood and grinds my gears all night long to the point where I want to scream and then I'll get a customer on the verge of getting angry and all I want to do is punch them in the face and walk out, but I somehow manage to keep my cool. I was going to talk to the boss about working in the back but my supervisor got to her first and I didn't get to use my own words and while I didn't hear anything from her I'm pretty sure she's fed up with my complaining. I've taken the stand that I won't do the cooks job without the pay but that leaves me with buffet work so if I can't work out on the buffet and I won't cook it doesn't leave me with much options, and that's what she's thinking but I didn't get to talk to her so I'm seething with irritation that she doesn't know what I'm thinking. And I swear if I didn't have my new apartment to come home to I would have had a nervous breakdown.



Tonight when I'm trying to go to sleep I will undoubtedly be formulating my conversation with the chef and I'll see if I can turn this around and make her see why I don't want to be out front and at the same time I don't want to be scheduled as a primary cook. My idea is that I can do the prep-work since I'm usually pulled into the back for some prep each night anyway, and I can also assist the cooks when they need help or if they want a break, so long as I'm not doing it all night long. I think if I talk to her reasonably I can get what I want, but I don't want her to think that I'm not a versatile member of the team because then I up my chances of being laid off should the unfortunate happen *knocks on wood*, With my new found responsibility of an apartment the last thing I need on my plate is worrying whether I might get fired or night, it's just really stressful and makes me fed up with everything.
